President: The president shall preside at all meetings of the Local PTA and of the executive committee/board; shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed in the bylaws or assigned to him/her by the Local PTA or by the executive committee/board; shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the Local PTA in order that the purposes may be promoted.Officer Responsibilities:
Vice-President: The vice-president shall act as aide to the president and shall in their designated order perform the duties of the president in the President’s absence or inability to serve.
Recording Secretary: The recording secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings of the PTA and of the executive committee/board and shall perform other duties as may be delegated to him/her.
The Recording Secretary is responsible for sending out district-wide emails. The email system used is by PTO Today Parent Express. The email system has the recommended unsubscribe link used in email marketing.
Since the most current emails are necessary, the PTA Directory position goes hand-in-hand with the position of the Recording Secretary. The Recording Secretary works closely with the administration to coordinate and maintain the district and parent emails as well as the information included in the PTA Directory.
Corresponding Secretary: The corresponding secretary shall conduct the general correspondence of the organization as directed by the president, executive committee/board.
Treasurer: The Treasurer shall have custody of all funds of the Local PTA; shall keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures; shall pay out local funds in accordance with the approved budget as authorized by the Local PTA. The Treasurer shall be responsible for the maintenance of such books of accounts and records; shall make disbursements as authorized by the President, executive board in accordance with the budget. At every meeting of the organization, the Treasurer shall present a financial statement of accounts. Annually, the Treasurer must prepare and submit the financial statements and materials needed for the annual audit, as well as prepare and submit required information for tax return preparation.
